Scott LaCoste Construction

Where we build

Pace is home base. Our service area covers most of Santa Rosa and Escambia counties.

Built in Pace

Our current focus is Pace and Milton, in Santa Rosa County, where our spec homes are underway now. Scott also has a long history building in downtown Pensacola, in Escambia County, and we build on your lot anywhere in either county. Each service area page covers the local details: drive time from Pace, what's happening in that community, and how to find out about land or building options there. Some areas are places we build in regularly; others are further out and handled case by case, depending on the specific lot and timeline.

Escambia County and the Pensacola metro

Core service area

Pace and Milton, both in Santa Rosa County, are where our current homes are underway and where we build most often today. Pace is home base, and Milton is the county seat and closest city to NAS Whiting Field. Santa Rosa County has grown about 40% since 2010, with an A-rated school district for the 2024-2025 school year. Scott also built a lot of homes in downtown Pensacola, in Escambia County, earlier in his career, and we build on your lot anywhere in either county, not just where our current spec inventory happens to sit.

Primary service area

We also regularly build in Pea Ridge, Gulf Breeze, Navarre, Cantonment, and the greater Pensacola area. Coastal communities like Gulf Breeze and Navarre often carry flood-zone elevation requirements that inland Pace lots don't, which we factor into any estimate before you commit to land there. These areas see steady inquiries from us, even though our current spec inventory happens to be concentrated in Pace right now. We treat these communities the same way we treat Pace itself: with a real walk-through of the specific lot and an honest answer about what it will take to build there, not a generic quote pulled from a spreadsheet.

Beyond our core area

Molino, Jay, Beulah, and Perdido Key are further out from our home base but still within reach for the right project, usually for buyers who already own land there. Contact Scott to talk through a specific location outside our core area; he'll give you a straight answer about drive time, logistics, and whether the project makes sense for both sides before you get too far into planning. We'd rather have an honest conversation upfront about whether a project this far out makes sense for both of us than take it on and let logistics become a problem partway through construction.

Frequently asked questions

Do you build outside Santa Rosa County?

Yes, we regularly build in parts of Escambia County, including Cantonment and the greater Pensacola area.

How far will you travel for a build?

Our core area is a short drive from Pace. We'll consider projects further out, like Jay or Perdido Key, on a case-by-case basis.

Which area page should I look at?

Start with the community closest to your land or where you're looking to buy. Each page has local drive times and details.

Does it matter for financing whether I build on my own lot or one of yours?

It can. Building on land you already own may change how a lender structures the loan compared to buying a home on a lot we hold. Talk to your lender about your specific situation before you're locked into a plan, since the paperwork and timeline can differ meaningfully between the two paths depending on the lender you choose and the type of loan involved.
