How a Scott LaCoste Construction home gets built
Four decisions on your end. We handle the rest.

How it works
Assuming your financing is in order, buying a Scott LaCoste Construction home comes down to four things: where you build, which floor plan, and what you pick for your color and finish selections. After that, we do the rest. You don't have to worry about crooked two-by-fours or roof leaks. You get your keys and enjoy your house. Realtors often make the first call on our behalf, but the process is the same whether you come to us directly or through an agent.

Pick your location
Build on your own lot or one of Scott's, in Sage Forest or along the Segrest Rd corridor in Pace. We'll walk the land with you either way.

Pick your selections
Exterior brick and Hardie combination, cabinet finish, plumbing and light fixture finish, paint colors, and countertops. What's still open depends on where a specific build stands.

Scott builds it, you get the keys
We pull permits, handle the county paperwork, and build the home through framing, mechanicals, and finish work. You don't have to worry about crooked two-by-fours or roof leaks. Scott walks the finished home with you and hands you the keys.

What to expect
How long it takes
A custom build typically runs 8 to 12 months from permitting to keys, depending on the plan, the lot, and how quickly selections get finalized. Permitting itself can take several weeks depending on the county and the complexity of the plan. A home that's already under construction, like our current spec homes in Pace, can be ready in a matter of weeks or months, depending on where it stands when you first look at it. Check each home's estimated completion date for our current timeline, and ask Scott directly if you need a more specific answer. We'd rather give you a realistic range than a number that sounds good but doesn't hold up.
Who you'll work with
Scott is personally involved on every job his company takes on, from the first lot walk to the final walkthrough. If you call the office, there's a good chance you'll get Scott directly, not a sales rep or a project manager you've never met. That matters most in the middle of a build, when a decision needs to get made quickly and you want to talk to the person who actually understands the site and the plan, not someone reading from a file. We think that's the right way to run a small building company: fewer layers between you and the person actually making decisions about your home.
Somewhere in the middle of it

Between the permit and the keys there are about six months where a house is just framing and weather. Scott is on site through all of it, and you will hear from him the whole way.
