Jay

Jay is a small, incorporated town in northern Santa Rosa County, about 40 minutes from Pace and roughly 38 miles north of Pensacola. It's a rural, farming-centered community, the farthest north we serve, and most of our inquiries here come from buyers with deep roots in the area who already own land and know what they want. We'll build there for the right project on the right timeline.

Building in Jay

Jay had 524 residents at the 2020 census, a slight dip from 533 in 2010. State Road 4 and State Road 89 cross in the middle of town, and Jay Hospital, a small local facility, serves the surrounding area. The town grew up around cotton, soybeans, peanuts, and hay farming, and it's a very different feel than the growth corridors closer to the coast. It's roughly 40 minutes from our Pace office, the longest drive in our regular service area apart from Perdido Key.

Lots and land

We don't currently hold lots in Jay. If you own land there, contact Scott directly to talk through what a build would look like, including the added drive time we factor into scheduling for a job this far from our Pace base. We'll give you a straightforward answer about whether the project makes sense for both sides before committing to anything, including a realistic timeline given the distance.

Why buyers pick Jay

Jay draws buyers who want a genuinely rural, small-town setting well outside the busier Pace and Pensacola corridors, often on land that's been in the family for generations. It's a longer drive for us than most of our other service areas, but we'll take on the right project there when the fit, the timeline, and the scope all line up. If that trade fits your priorities, Jay is worth a direct conversation with us.
